About Joann Bergeron
In 2003, I decided to pursue a career that I would enjoy, that would involve working with dogs. I completed the Canine Companion Concept for dog trainers and graduated from the entrepreneurship program at Community Futures. Subsequently, I opened Canine Campus Dog Daycare and Training Centre, the leading dog daycare center in West Kelowna. During my 14-year ownership of the daycare, I worked with hundreds of dogs of different breeds and sizes, and I became an expert in dog socialization and behavior. I sold Canine Campus when the timing was right, and it allowed me to move to an area of the Okanagan Valley that was closer to nature and the outdoors.
After taking a break to enjoy my new surroundings, I started thinking about my next steps. Photography had always been a hobby of mine, and I realized that I could combine my love of dogs, and my passion for the outdoors by pursuing a career in pet photography. That's when I went back to school and obtained a Diploma in Professional Photography from The Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna. This program equipped me with the necessary creative and technical skills to become a Professional Pet Photographer.
As a Professional Pet Photographer, my goal is to capture the unique essence and spirit of your dog, creating images that showcase their personality. I create a relaxed and comfortable environment resulting in authentic and natural portraits that are unique pieces of art that you'll treasure forever.
